Ana AhmadBorn: August 9, 1974"The inspiration for my work lies in the beauty and colorful vitality of nature. My art is my vision of the natural world". Born in the town of Pasuruan in Eastern Java, Ana Ahmad has been painting since he was 14 years old. As a young man without opportunity or access to formal training, Ana began working with painters in local markets offering his time in exchange for some more informal apprenticing. After honing his skills, Ana came to Bali in 1998 in search of a wider and more prolific market for displaying and selling his work. His work has recently been featured in a number of exhibitions in Ubud, and he hopes to open his own exhibition gallery in the near future. Ana Ahmad is married and he and his wife recently celebrated the birth of their first daughter. |
