Agung PribadiBorn: November 23, 1962."I work from my heart which extends to my handcrafted work. I feel my background in design helps me in developing my pieces but it is passion that sees it through." Agung Pribadi was born in Malang, East Java. 'Deny' as his friends call him, lived in Java and studied Art and Design at the University of Jogjakarta. Agung decided to work as graphic designer following University and developed CD covers, brochures and other marketing tools for various hotels in the region. In 1999, he was accompanied by his wife to deliver brochures for a boutique hotel in Ubud, Bali when the two became interested in what they saw of the artistic silver jewelry sold in the local stores. While having a coffee with a master silversmith in the village, the silversmith saw Agung's design work including his drawings, sketches, concepts and more. Together they decided to open a business and explore various design ideas. Agung has made a name for himself as a highly skilled silversmith in Indonesia and has established a business that generates sustainable incomes for himself and his family. |
