Born: July 15, 1976

"Art is an important part of Balinese culture, and I enjoy painting the deepest and most meaningful elements of our religious and cultural traditions. It is an expressive process which allows an artist to best find their vision and purpose."

Ni Made was brought to art by her father and uncle who were both painters much like their fathers before them. With long family traditions and an interest in traditional techniques, Ni Made joined the SMSR in Batubulan where she received formal training in traditional forms and style. After two apprenticeships in the Ubud area, Ni Made opened a joint gallery and studio with her husband who is a sculptor, and they have co-operated the space for eight years.
